What is a "mini session"?

I'm so glad you asked! :) A mini session is a portrait session where you get part of what you would get in a full session at a lower cost. It is offered on a specific day, at a specific location in back-to-back time slots.

Pros of a Mini Session

It's Quick!

Usually about 15 minutes! Have a child (or husband) with limited attention (especially for photos)?! No problem with mini sessions, you will be in and out in no time.

It's Lower Cost

Since it is a shorter session and less images are resulted, the cost is also lower than a full portrait session.

Try something New

At a lower cost point, maybe you feel up for trying something new- a mommy and me session? a grandparent's session? a red truck mini?

Ideal Locations

Mini sessions are conducted at an ideal, special location chosen by the photographer. Which can offer an exciting variation to your family photos--flower fields, lifestyle studio, red truck, fall foliage. Pick what suits you!

BEAUTIFUL MEMORIES

You get to capture those beautiful memories. Families and children change so fast. Mini sessions are a wonderful way to make the good old days last forever.

Cons of A mini Session

At this point you may be asking- Alright, Amanda, what gives? Why wouldn't I just do mini sessions from here on out?

Less time

Not to say you won't get amazing photos, but mini sessions offer less time for creative posing and candid shots. If your child is not cooperating, this allows less time to get them in the groove of the session. Don't worry though, I've got tips on how to prep your child for your mini session that I will send to you once you have booked!

Not ideal for every type of session

Some sessions, simply cannot be completed in a mini session- newborn photos, extended family photos, cake smash can't be completed in a mini session scenario.

Limited Availability

Mini sessions are offered back-to-back on one specific day and spots are limited. You may miss your chance to grab a slot (join my email list to avoid this!). If you have to cancel your mini session, you likely won't be able to reschedule.

Fewer images

In a mini session you generally get 5-10 images depending on the specifics laid out by the photographer, whereas in a full portrait session you have 25 images included. I do offer the option to purchase additional images for all of my sessions.
