There are three Main components of Composition in photography

These essential concepts up-level your photography by creating visual interest and direction in your photos.
  1. Framing
  2. Leading Lines
  3. Foreground

Framing

Framing your subject- whether an actual picture frame, a window, doorway, or beautiful arch, framing draws attention right to your subject. I framed this gorgeous mama-to-be in an archway at Mellon Park for her maternity photoshoot in Pittsburgh, PA.

Leading Lines

Leading lines do just that, they lead the eye right to your subject. A leading line can be anything, a tree branch, a pathway, a fence. In this maternity photo, all lines- steps, railings & pathways lead to this beautiful expecting couple.

Foreground

Last, but not least, foreground adds depth and interest to the photo. I love how this mom's bright pink dress added beautiful contrast to these winter hydrangeas in the foreground and background of this photo.
